Being a mom is hard.
Of course it is the greatest thing in the world and I wouldn't trade it for anything but it's tough. Some days I feel like I'm losing my mind and somedays I feel like, "I got this". I have found a few basic things that have really helped me to have less "I'm losing my mind" days.
Things that help me NOT go crazy:
- a morning run
- late night baths
- doing the dishes
- planning the night before
- FREEZER MEALS!!!!!!!!!!!
- a great mom and mother-in-law to watch the kids
- scriptures and prayers
- a fun date night
What really helps you stay sane??

chocolate!! :) Some days I don't have a car and I think I might go crazy. I try and have some fun activities like baking, puzzles, and dancing with Kenzie to try and keep us both sane!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of your plate with 3 very young children. But you are very blessed that you have a lot of local babysitting help (though I guess that will change when you move to Mexico this summer)!
ReplyDeletePlanning ahead for everything is key to my sanity.
When my kids were little as yours, and I had a very hard moment, I stopped wherever I was (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom...) closed my eyes, breath as deep I could and look at my kids, not saying anything, just looking at them, observing, as when you see a movie and guess what! I realized they are soooooo wonderful, perfect and make my life complete and I feel much better, and I understood that if I was living "that" life "that" moment is because my Father in Heaven knows I am the perfect person to resolve whatever situation around me. So I started to cry a little and smile and cheer up myself to continue. (Singing hymns helped me alot too.
